An interview with Rob Budé

second generation family business Budé Group

Rob took over the company of his father in 2014. After his study Technical Business Administration, followed by General Management at Nyenrode, and a short trip within the ICT, he started working at the company in 2008.

Just like his father, he enjoys technical challenges. In particular the technological innovation. The realization of new machines or products and the commercial applicability.

Innovation

The Gasshaker, the lid applicator or the CubyKing are nice examples.  Machines developed for a specific industry, but also certainly with opportunities in other sectors. Rob believes strongly in the potential of these machines and with his enthusiasm, persuasion and contemporary marketing resources he is working on new product-market combinations.

Passion

Inventing, developing and producing high quality machines is clearly his passion. Nationally, but also internationally. The step of prototype machines to standard production is in this case insurmountable, selling and installing machines all over the world can only happen with a proven high-quality concept.

Mechanical engineers

Rob enjoys working with real mechanical engineers. In addition to people who have excellent technical skills, they are also creative people who can and dare to color outside the lines. Do you want to be innovative and develop customized machines or parts, then this profile is essential.

Deliberately he talks about ‘real’ mechanical engineers. He misses the specific specialized education, which made place in the last years, for a now broad HBO education ‘Engineering’. According to him a sad decline. This education does not connect to the business life in search for specialists, according to Rob.

New colleagues with ambition

That is why it is so difficult to fulfill vacancies. ‘We are looking for specialist who can work with their hands, new colleagues, being able to handle technical challenges together with us.’

Budé Group exists for more than 30 years and there is plenty of ambition to make the next 30 years a success! Perhaps in a while the third generation is eager to take over the company.

“We are looking for specialist who can work with their hands, new colleagues, being able to handle technical challenges together with us.”
