History

1985-1994

Startup phase

In 1985, Budé Automatisering was founded by Marcel Budé with an initial focus on accounting software for agricultural businesses. The company experienced rapid growth. Subsequently, there were many requests from his previous field (measurement and control technology for the transport of gas, oil and ethylene through pipelines) to provide automation for this kind of applications, leading to a transition to industrial automation in 1987.

By the early 1990s, this resulted in a further specialization in measurement and control systems. These systems were specifically designed for measuring and calibrating pump stations for pipelines of gases, oils, and ethylene. This niche approach allowed Budé to distinguish itself in the market, and due to Marcel Budé's extensive experience in this industry, Budé maintained this leading position for a long time.

This focused approach to industrial advice and the delivery of high-quality systems allowed Budé to thrive in ever-changing market conditions while continuing to provide high-quality services to its customer base.

1994 - 2013

Transition into one-stop-shop machinebuilder

In the early 1990s, Budé entered into a collaboration with machine factory Justin Gerards bv. A respected machine builder, without its own software department, in Maastricht. This collaboration was converted into the acquisition of the Justin Gerards bv in 1994, an important step that paved the way for becoming a one-stop-shop machine builder with all the knowledge and expertise.

The merger of the facilities in Amstenrade and Maastricht in 1997, not only increased operational efficiency, but also strengthened collaboration between the teams. In 2004, Budé launched the innovative bowl feeder concept, allowing precise alignment and further processing of frikandels and sausages. This marked a crucial step in the development of the product portfolio.

In 2005, Budé achieved a significant milestone with the introduction of the Gasshaker. The Gasshaker, an innovative machine, rapidly fills and mixes gas into cream-filled aerosol cans through a shaking motion during gassing, resulting in whipped cream.

The acquisition in 2006 of Techno Service Terlinde bv, a respected machine factory, further fortified their position.

2013 - 2019

Innovation is key

In 2014, the second generation of the Budé family, Rob Budé, took over the company. Whereas in the past, the focus was largely on prototype construction, here the groundwork was laid to shift towards standardization. Rob's vision was to globally sell their whipped cream gassing technology. Although it took eight years for this initiative to yield its first sale in the United States, it marked a breakthrough in Budé's international expansion.

In 2018, various inquiries from the bakery sector prompted the utilization of our bowl feeder technology for placing sausages on (puff) pastry. For this application an advanced and mobile system to accurately place sausages on pastry at an impressive speed of 300 pieces per minute was designed.

Due to the proven high reliability and quality of the Gasshakers, Budé was asked by existing customers to develop other machines within the aerosol for them. This resulted in 2020 to a collaboration with Serac SAS from France, in which we build a complete monoblock filler-crimper for one of our mutual customers. This is an advanced system for filling whipped cream at an impressive speed of 300 cycles per minute, demonstrating Budé's innovative strength and adaptability to the changing dynamics of the market.

2020 - Today

Innovation is key!

In 2020, Budé entered into a strategic partnership in the United States with MBC Aerosol, Elgin Chicago. A collaboration where both parties leverage each other's services to jointly sell and maintain products worldwide.

2022 marked the development of a the standalone gas pressure tester, a standalone version of the integrated version within the Gasshaker machines. This innovative system allows to individually test aerosol cans after being gassed.

The Gasshaker technology has presented new opportunities multiple times, including in 2022 when Rob Budé connected with Todd Carmichael, an American succesfull businessman and inventor who, during the COVID period, developed a new type of effervescence for beverages called 'shimmering beverages.' A product that can only be produced using the Gasshaker technology.

Finally, looking towards the future, in 2024, Budé initiated the construction of a new testing facility adjacent to the existing complex. This expansion not only reflected the company's ambitions but also the ongoing commitment to creating the best machines under optimal conditions.
